Josh is a theatre director based in London, working on new and existing plays and musicals.

He trained as Resident Assistant Director at the Donmar Warehouse and was Runner-Up for the 2018 RTST Peter Hall Award. In 2016, he won Best Director at the Off-West End Awards for One Arm at Southwark Playhouse. His 2025 production of A Streetcar Named Desire at Sheffield Crucible was nominated for Best Play Revival at the 2026 What’s On Stage Awards.

Work as a director includes the world premiere of Katherine Moar’s Ragdoll (Jermyn Street Theatre), A Streetcar Named Desire (Sheffield Crucible), Spend Spend Spend (Royal Exchange Theatre), the first major revival of Polly Stenham’s That Face (Orange Tree Theatre), the world premiere of The Narcissist by Christopher Shinn (Chichester Festival Theatre), Suddenly Last Summer (English Theatre Frankfurt), the world premiere of Musik by Jonathan Harvey and The Pet Shop Boys (Edinburgh Festival/Arts Theatre), and the European premieres of Adding Machine (Finborough Theatre) and One Arm (Southwark Playhouse), for which he won Best Director at the 2016 Off-West End Awards.

Josh has worked as Associate/Assistant Director for Dominic Cooke, Michael Grandage, Josie Rourke, Lyndsey Turner, Peter Gill, Matthew Warchus, Robert Hastie and Alexander Zeldin.

Josh also works as an acting teacher and audition coach and has extensive experience directing at drama schools including LAMDA, Mountview and Arts Educational.
